PRIMARY FUNCTION:
As a member of VACU's IT Quality Assurance team, the Quality Assurance Analyst I is responsible for participating in project activities by creating, managing and executing test cases within the testing process at VACU.
The Quality Assurance Analyst I delivers well written test cases, executes test cases and accurately documents any issues discovered in the testing process.
The Quality Assuance Analyst I documents defects identified during testing activities and drives them to resolution within the project timelines.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in creating test plans and scenarios with Test Lead
- Review test plans and scenarios with team and incorporate any changes suggested by project team under the guidance of the Test Lead
- Execute test cases based on test case priority
- Preparing new test cases/scripts and updating existing test cases/scripts
- Ensure test cases are built directly to test the Business Requirements
- Build test cases that are easy to understand and reusable as required
- Create Requirements Traceability Matrix to align test cases to the corresponding Business Requirements
- Perform System defect reporting, tracking, and resolution
- Follow defect process and drive defect to resolution
- Identify, classify, document, and prioritize defects during testing
- If needed, be able to pull a proper defect report
- Create screenshots and attach them to defects as required
- Be able to talk about and if needed, defend a defect
- Own defects on the project and drive them to closure
- Notate all conversations regarding defects to make sure proper defect history is recorded.
- Document defects in a manner that is easy to understand and written in a way that makes replication of the defect easy for the development team.
- Ensure defects are in the proper status with effective notation by QA and Development
- Work with developers to ensure that issue resolution steps are properly documented and available for future reference.
- Contribute to defect meetings for the project
- Deliver a daily status to testing team on testing, measuring key indicators on project health
- Provide Quality Assurance Manager with daily status on all projects working on.
- Provide feedback on testing process as required.
- Be a capable backup and step in for Test Lead as needed on defect meetings and provide a concise summary of meeting.
- Complete all required, ongoing enterprise level training including, but not limited to BSA, OFAC, and Information Security.
- Report all Risk Management Policy violations in accordance with policy.
- Other duties may be required and assigned by the supervisor.

Knowledge:
- Working knowledge of retail banking business processes and terminology.

Minimum Education and Experience:
- Experience working in a team environment and as a contributing member of crossfunctional teams.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- This job requires the ability to sit for long periods of time.
- This job requires infrequent lifting or carrying of objects up to 10 pounds.
