- Manage daily WISE operations, including programming implementation, front desk activities, event coordination, and student staff supervision (hiring, training, scheduling, evaluation).
- Administer WISE Village admissions in collaboration with University Housing, including database maintenance, admission decisions, and communications.
- Serve as the primary liaison with university housing, academic colleges, and campus partners.
- Maintain community visibility and engagement through office hours, event attendance, and positive interactions.
- Facilitate student connections to university experiences and provide guidance to student groups.
- Communicate with students via various channels and conduct assessments to evaluate program effectiveness.
- Develop strategic partnerships with campus units and the community to support student learning and advocacy efforts.
- Assist with recruiting activities, strategic planning, and fundraising to enhance WISE's reputation. Within the Academic Affairs department is the WISE Village, a living and learning community for first and second-year women entering STEM fields.The WISE Village is a collaborative partnership between its five academic colleges (Agriculture & Life Sciences, Engineering, Natural Resources, Sciences, and Textiles) and University Housing. Essential Job Duties The WISE program Associate Director will assist the Director in providing leadership and direction for first and second-year students in STEM-related majors.
As the Associate Director you will be expected to apply student development theory to create and implement student programming, advising, and counseling, as well as assist in achieving the goals of WISE with regards to student success and retention.
In this role you get to work in conjunction with the Director to design, create, and implement academic year programming for the WISE program. You will be responsible for the daily operation of the WISE program programming in WISE including the creation of programs and managing the programming calendar for the program. Additionally, you will be a apart of cultivating and maintaining partnerships across campus.
