JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Class Title: Summer Health Technician
  • Compensation:$ $15.00 per hour
  • Department: Community & Economic Development
  • Bureau: Health
  • GENERAL PURPOSE:
  • The student health technician is responsible for assisting in Health Bureau related functions, including general office work, program delivery and community outreach efforts.
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- " College or high school student 16 years of age or older.
- " Involvement in school-related activities, wellness programs or sports/fitness helpful but not necessary.
- " Interest in health and health promotion/disease prevention desirable.
- " Ability to work effectively with the general public and to interact in a non-judgmental culturally sensitive manner with people of diverse cultures and lifestyles.
- " Ability to follow direction in a wide variety of settings.
- " Ability to organize and manage time.
- " Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates.
- " Ability to work with standard office equipment desirable.
- " Knowledge of basic computer skills desirable.
- " Possession of a valid drivers license desirable but not necessary.

  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- " Assist in any Health Bureau-related community activity to support staff in the following programs: Maternal and Child Health, Injury Prevention, Nutrition and Physical Activity, Cancer Control and Prevention, Public Health Emergency Preparedness, Communicable Disease Prevention and Education, and Environmental Health.
- " Participate in youth-oriented programs such as the Alliance Summer Recreation Program and education and outreach programs targeting youth.
