    Congregational-Presbyterian Church (CPC) is a mid-size church located in the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley. It's a federated church that is a part of both the United Church of Christ (UCC) and the Presbyterian Church, USA (PCUSA). Our mission is to "Know Christ, Become like Christ, Share Christ".

    About the role: The Financial Secretary is hired by the Pastor and the Trustees of Congregational Presbyterian Church with the responsibility to maintain the Church's financial records, including but not limited to: general ledger, payroll, accounts payable and contributions.

    Purpose: To maintain and monitor all financial and business records of the church; to provide administrative support to the Senior Pastor and the Church

    Accountability: The Financial Secretary is accountable to the Senior Pastor as Head of Staff and to the Official Board through the Trustees.

    Person Description: We're looking for someone with a personal faith in Christ, is approachable, and willing to work on a team, and with members and volunteers of the congregation.

    Responsibilities:

    -Show Christian hospitality to all leaders, congregants, volunteers and guests who step into our office

    -Set up, maintain and monitor all church financial records such as stewardship, budget and special accounts, payroll, etc.

    -Create and prepare reports for the Official Board and congregation such as monthly financial reports, annual reports, and other reports as assigned.

    -Attend weekly staff meetings

    -Perform administrative work for the Board, such as background checks, and other tasks as required for payroll.

    -Recruit and train Sunday offering counters, and other volunteers as needed.

    -Confidentially document and maintain member pledges, donations, and other receipts. This includes weekly bank deposits and recording of tithe income.

    -Administer purchases and expenditure for the Support Ministry (office operations and supplies)

    -Coordinate church schedules and calendars with Secretary/Receptionist.

    -Work in coordination with the Secretary/Receptionist as needed

    -Other duties as assigned.

    Candidate Requirements:

    -Financial literacy, with a background or expertise in finance

    -Highly organized

    -Interested in working on a team

    -Personable and willing to work with a variety of volunteers

    -Familiarity with church. Does not have to share the church's exact faith, but must be comfortable reading scripture and discussing faith in staff meetings.
