Department Summary:


MITRE Lab's Emerging Engineering and Physical Sciences Department serves as a vanguard for MITRE to meet the future needs of our customers, requiring technical excellence while encouraging creativity and fostering interests in current and emerging technologies across its diverse employees.

Your future colleagues are a collegial team of chemists, energy and environmental engineers, material scientists, systems engineers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, physicists, and civil engineers who work across MITRE's diverse sponsors and partners.


Roles & Responsibilities:


  • Frame and communicate technology performance to sponsors.

Basic Qualifications:


  • Typically requires less than 1 year of related experience with a related Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of related education and work experience
  • Knowledge in physics or related fields.
  • Strong technical writing and oral presentation skills.
  • Ability to design and conduct experiments.
  • Desire to develop new proficiencies.
  • The ability to work in a collaborative environment with both internal and external researchers.
  • This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid onsite.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Quantum information science and energy technologies experience.
  • Experience with analytical equipment and data analysis.
  • Proven background in experimental design and analytical analysis.
  • Ability to pivot quickly and work independently or with a team.
