Full job description

As the Staff Accountant, your role involves providing precise financial recording, reconciling, and organizing data for the Finance Department and the company. You will also ensure proper application of accounting principles in cash applications, adjustments, deletions, and account reconciliations. This position requires researching and analyzing financial data to support various accounting procedures within the department, as well as assisting the Assistant Controller in producing timely and accurate financial information for company reporting and presentations.

Responsibilities include reconciling accounting system data, maintaining accurate financial records, monitoring company inventory values, and providing support to warehouse operations as needed for cycle counts and audit reconciliations.

Essential Functions:

Effectively manages time and resources to meet objectives and deadlines. Tracks and updates assigned tasks in the company CRM system.
Applies cash receipts, makes necessary adjustments, and updates the company's accounting software.
Prepares internal and external financial statements by collecting and analyzing data. Addresses accounting and financial inquiries by researching and interpreting data.
Creates journal entries and reconciles balance sheets.
Responds to information requests, reviews financial statements, and supports internal and external audits.
Assists the Assistant Controller and Controller in month-end processes and special projects, providing necessary support. May help other department members with their workload if needed.
Conducts scheduled cycle counts at company warehouse locations to ensure accurate inventory reporting.

Position Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or accounts payable
BS Degree required
California Driver's License and proof of insurance
Punctuality and consistent attendance
