CLAIMS INTAKE SPECIALIST
Department:

Corporate - Safety - Claims

Corporate HQ - Cerritos, CA

Full-Time, Non-Exempt

_ Reports To_
Claims Manager

_ Position Summary_

_ Responsibilities_

Provide support to the Claims Manager and perform other office tasks.
Customer service, problemsolving, communication, data entry, attention to detail, research, organizational skills, and time management.
Set up and enter new claims into the claims management system.
Input and review notes/diaries in claims management system as instructed.
Process payments.
Process mail; handle filing, faxing, and photocopying.
Review, prepare, create, and/or send letters, reports, and forms.
Answer and initiate telephone calls and provide customer service as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

_ Qualifications/Knowledge/Critical Skills_

Minimum six (6) months of clerical/customer service experience or equivalent combination of education and experience REQUIRED
Strong customer service skills REQUIRED
Excellent oral and written communication skills REQUIRED
Organizational skills REQUIRED
Attention to detail REQUIRED
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite REQUIRED
Strong Excel/database experience REQUIRED
High School Diploma or equivalent REQUIRED
MS Access database experience PREFERRED
Experience processing insurance claims PREFERRED
Transportation/Trucking industry experience PREFERRED
Bilingual (Spanish) PREFERRED

_ Physical Demands/Environmental Factors_

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
Occasionally required to stand and walk
Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Some travel required
