Description

Basic Function:


  • Manage necessary product testing for all applicable imported products and communicating with vendors on products that need to be submitted to 3rd party testing labs. Coordinate the shipping of samples to 3rd Party Labs.
  • Communicate product testing results to vendors and Buyers.
  • Address/correct any products that FAIL testing with Product buyer and Vendor and schedule RETEST; upload all documents to Vendor File for reference as needed.
  • Track testing status of samples at 3rd Party Labs and communicate timeline to Buying and/or Purchasing teams.
  • Oversee new product samples with Product Development Team, to identify any potential compliance issues and provide recommendations.
  • Be the point of contact for regulatory agencies, e.g. CPSC, for product safety testing and compliance questions for consumer goods, CBP for Imported Products and FDA for any Food products.
  • Conducting Product Recall Simulations annually. As the Facility Product Recall Coordinator, be responsible for preparing reports for management and external regulatory bodies as appropriate.
  • In the event of a product recall, communicating with leadership and stakeholders, putting products under quarantine, if needed and notifying regulatory agencies, if needed.
  • Providing requested documents and copies of certificates to outside stakeholders, e.g.
U.S. Mexico Canada Agreement (USMCA), other retailers, customers and vendors as required and needed.

  • Create, revise, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) for continuous improvement.
  • Inspect products when received to ensure compliance with PMall and regulatory standards.
  • Ensuring that products meet packaging, color, material composition expectations etc.
  • Communicate compliance expectations to external and internal stake holders.
  • Be able to summarize expectations and results to stake holders.
  • Oversee QC Library to ensure that that approval samples of all products match shipments.
  • Manage and review product remakes, customer complaints and provide feedback to customer questions and concerns with input and assistance from Customer Service and Management if needed.
  • Perform product reviews, with a focus on addressing concerns and making recommendations on any updates if needed.
  • Review product remakes/ unpicks with an emphasis of reducing them.
  • Work closely with Warehouse, QC team and Production Departments on identifying and managing vendor defects and reviewing questionable products to make sure that they meet PMall standards.
  • Complete QC Inspection Paperwork
  • Assist other departments with projects as needed.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Food:


  • Review & manage received food components.
  • Coordinate Pest Control program with Facilities team, as needed.

Requirements:


Education:


  • College Degree, or equivalent onthejob experience

Experience:


  • 35 years production experience

Computer Skills:


  • Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel

Other Requirements And Knowledge, Skills And Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA), United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement standards, U.S Food and Drug Administration (FDA), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), California Proposition 65 (Prop 65) and any other Federal State and City regulations.
  • Willingness to focus on the goals/standards of the company.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and interact with cross functional team members.
  • Must be dependable, possess an extreme attention to detail, and have excellent production and communication skills.
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Highly organized with ability to work with mínimal supervision.
