The SRM-Yard Lead-Man shall ensure that the operation of the SRM 3rd bay is performing in accordance with plant policies and procedures.

He/she will ensure safe practices and cooperation within the Yard and SRM team and production departments during his/her shift.

Working Conditions:

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment; hot when weather is hot and cold when weather is cold. Greasy, dirty and noisy environment. Work involves lifting, pulling and/or pushing of materials and product up to 50 pounds. Standing and walking considerable distances.

Operation requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, and hardhats.

Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.


  • Qualifications
:

1.1.

A High School diploma or equivalent with minimum 1 year of experience in OCTG Pipe Yard operations or proven previous experience leading a group of people.

1.2. Exceptional reading, writing of English as well as solid arithmetic and computer skills.

1.3. Visibility of work requires attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and discretion with confidential information.

1.4. Capable of working MS Office/Excel as well as the ability to understand ERP/QR Code Systems/GPS tracking devices.

1.5. Must be able to work with a flexible or rotating schedule which may require over-time and weekends when needed.

1.6. Ability to operate heavy equipment.

1.7. Ability to work in a team is required.


  • Responsibilities
:

2.1. Ensure daily movements from 12" OCTG pipe mill and bundles coming from SRM are moved accurately in MES.

2.2. Assist Yard Supervisor with day-to-day activities, work order reconciliations and employee supervision.

2.3. Acting as a backup covering for other leadmen in the event of a personnel shortage.

2.4. Provide effective communication with Yard Management.

2.5. Verify and ensure the equipment (Cranes and forklifts) is safe to operate.

2.6. Ensure that operational supplies are available when needed.

2.7. Report to QA and Yard supervisor in a timely manner any quality issues found in the product.

2.8. Supports HSE-related programs that will increase awareness and promote a safety culture.


  • Activities
:

3.1. Reconciles daily movements posted in the MES by the forklift Operators or crane operators. Update movement transactions in the event of a MES discrepancy.

3.2. Maintaining efficient operation of product flow with all departments in order to avoid any potential downtime.

3.3. Execute daily counts on work orders, rack locations and assigned projects to validate MES.

3.4. Administration of operational resources to maximize production and efficiency.

3.5. Conduct daily safety tool box meetings.

3.6. Facilitates and coordinates the upkeep and maintenance of heavy loading equipment by contacting mobile maintenance personnel as needed.

3.7. Ensures the department has the proper supplies (boards, chocks, PPE, nails, tools) in order to operate effective and efficiently.

3.8. This position will require to operate Heavy Equipment.

3.9. Other duties as assigned.


  • Authority and Obligation
:

4.1.

This position has the authority to stop SRM-Yard Operations at any time that is deemed necessary for reasons of safety, quality, or priority.
