Responsibilities:


Hours of operation: 8:30am - 5pm

JOB SUMMARY

  • The Billing & Collections Specialist is primarily responsible for patient billing, collections and accounts receivable activity for all payor sources, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • The Billing & Collections Specialist is responsible for account followup, resolving billing problems and answering patient inquiries.
  • Sets up financial arrangements as needed.
  • Uses collection techniques to keep accounts receivable current including monitoring for delinquent payments.
  • Has training and experience in Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurance billing and experience in various software systems, including Electronic Medical Records.

Education/Regulatory Requirements:


  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • B

Skills:


  • 3 years' experience in healthcare billing and collections.
  • Specific working knowledge of various billing software, Microsoft products, experienced with electronic claims and transmissions, and working knowledge of regulatory requirements for Medicare, Medicaid and Commercial insurances.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology as well as knowledge of CPT and ICD9 & ICD10 CM codes.
