Specialist, Communications

Summary:


The Specialist, Communications will support Enrollment Management in managing the outgoing recruitment communications produced by the Stevenson University Admissions Office.

This position requires a creative thinker with excellent writing, editing, and project management skills and a working knowledge of both digital and print communications strategies along with photography and graphic design knowledge.

Collaboration and regular interaction with the admissions and marketing departments and other University administrators, faculty, and students is required.

Education/Experience:

Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field. Relevant experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis. At least two years of additional relevant experience preferred.


Knowledge/Skills/Ability:


  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Working knowledge of current multimedia communication strategies
  • Ability to adapt to emerging marketing technologies and techniques
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Cloud

Physical Requirements:


Medium Work:
Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Keyboarding, reaching, standing and/or sitting, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions. Close visual acuity. Requires physical abilities consistent with a busy office environment on a university campus. Requires ability to lift/move boxes of University promotional materials up to 40 pounds. Daily work with computers, monitors, copy machines and other office equipment.


Essential Functions:


  • Implement integrated communications schedules for traditional and transfer undergraduate as well as PsyD admissions through the admissions funnel.
  • Collaborate with academic schools to develop communication plan for undergraduate recruitment.
  • Process and coordinate outgoing mailings as needed. Work with mail houses to coordinate larger mailings.
  • Work with third party vendors on digital recruitment efforts such as Capture, Mongoose, Carnegie, Appily, and Niche.
  • Coordinate third party lead generation communication plan.
  • Assist in the coordination of Admissions events including promotion, runofshow, presentations, and coordination.
  • Create and execute communications schedules and market programs for Admissions events.
