    Job Description
    MAU is hiring a Human Resources Generalist at our client in North Charleston, SC. As a Human Resources Generalist, you will support various functions, including onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, workers' compensation, leave of absence, compliance, and enforcing company policies and practices. This is a long-term contract assignment.

    Required Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
    General Requirements

    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
    • Strong analytical, critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills

    • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
    • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
    • Proficient with benefits administration, including leave of absence, COBRA, 401k, FMLA
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related software
    • Proficiency with, or the ability to, quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems
    Preferred Requirements
    • 3 – 5+ years of human resources management experience
    Essential Functions
    • Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assignments to include anti-harassment training, professional licensure/education, aptitude exams, and certifications
    • Perform tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs to include compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management, productivity, recognition, morale; and training and development
    • Interview and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions, collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
    • Conduct or acquire background checks and employee eligibility verifications
    • Implement and facilitate new hire orientation and employee recognition programs
    • Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to appropriate staff
    • Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
    • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices
    • Review policies and practices to maintain compliance
    • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
    • Aid and guide management and employees when complex, specialized, and confidential questions and issues arise
    • Facilitate with immigration vendors and internal employees as needed
    • Respond to claims for Unemployment Compensation
    • Create, maintain, and update employee records to ensure compliance and confidentiality
    • Ensure new hires are reflected correctly in HRIS systems and offboarding is updated correctly and timely
    • Manage and coordinate all paid and unpaid leave of absence for all team members, including FML, non-FMLA, Workers' Compensation, PTO, etc.
    • Manage and coordinate Workers' Compensation processes
    • Conduct exit interviews
    • Back-up to payroll
    • Perform other tasks as assigned
