Description
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED; bachelor's degree in criminal justice/public administration or related field is preferred; three years of relevant experience in a court/legal environment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience in a court/legal environment.
Demonstrated skills in oral/written communication; multi-tasking in fast-paced environment; meeting tight deadlines; attention to detail; public relations/customer service; utilization of state-of-the-art technology and work proficiency.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new software and technology
- Ability to multitask in a busy environment and manage an independent workload
Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check, and education/degree verification required.
Duties:
- The Circuit Court Clerk's Office is the administrative arm of the Circuit Court. Our daytoday operations significantly impact our Chesterfield community.
- We are looking to expand our Probate team with a dedicated and caring professional having three or more years of experience in a court/legal environment, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Exceptional people skills are a must, as a large part of what we do is supply information, assistance, and support to customers who have recently experienced the loss of a loved one. Probate or estate administration can feel confusing or overwhelming, so clear and kind communication is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct appointments to probate Wills and qualify fiduciaries
- Maintain an attitude of compassion and helpfulness while also exercising high levels of discretion/confidentiality
- Calculate and collect appropriate fees/taxes
- Compile and proofread the Will and Bond Book indices
- Serve as a liaison to the Commissioner of Accounts and the County's Tax Assessor
- Perform other duties and special projects as necessary

Monday - Friday; 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
