Job Summary:

As a Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating various aspects of the supply chain process to ensure the efficient and timely movement of goods and services.

Your role will involve strategic planning, optimizing transportation and distribution processes, managing a team, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The goal is to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall supply chain performance.


A major focus of this role initially will be the selection of a Transportation Management System and the subsequent implementation of the solution.

Managing the TMS and leveraging it to streamline ongoing carrier bids will be critical responsibilities long-term.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize the supply chain.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align logistics with overall business goals.
  • Evaluate existing processes and recommend improvements.
  • Lead and manage a team of logistics professionals.
  • Provide guidance, support, and training to team members.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Coordinate and optimize the transportation of goods from suppliers to distribution centers or endusers.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with transportation providers.
  • Monitor and analyze transportation costs and performance.
  • Coordinate with distribution centers to streamline operations.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms to ensure favorable agreements for the company.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations affecting logistics operations.
  • Ensure compliance with international and local shipping and customs regulations.
  • Qualify, implement, and utilize logistics technology and software for tracking, reporting, and optimization. Priority will be TMS to support our growing distribution footprint and ensure we're managing costs effectively through our planned expansion.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and trends in logistics.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess logistics performance.
  • Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in logistics management or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain processes and industry trends.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Analytical and problemsolving abilities.
  • Familiarity with logistics software and technologies specifically TMS.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards.
