Duties:


  • Serves as the Deputy Director, Chief Information Office/G6 of Enterprise IT for an Army Special Operations Command (USASOC).
  • Plans, programs, budgets, and executes Brigade fiscal resources to support Mission Command Network Systems (MCNS) operational requirements in deployed and enterprise environments.
  • Assists in the planning, coordination, and conflict resolution of the work schedules within the working groups.
  • Coordinates with Service and Government Laboratories, civilian industry, and academia to ensure and maintain awareness of their focus on unique special operations technology needs.
  • Routinely coordinates with flag level senior leaders through formal presentation regarding details of technical solutions, associated resourcing, and authorization of use.
  • Provides executive guidance, management advice and oversight of developmental MCNS.

  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 60085, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Employee must have and be able to maintain TOP SECRET security clearance with Special Intelligence Access as a result of current and/or favorable Special Background Investigation.
  • Performs 5% temporary duty travel (TDY).

Specialized experience is defined as working with three (3) or more of the following:

  • 1. Developing IT policies and procedures governing the planning and delivery of information technology services.
  • 2. Providing guidance and leadership in the planning and integration of information technology requirements.
  • 3. Experience in transitioning legacy IT systems and services into modern, contemporary IT technologies, methodologies, and services.
  • 4. Experience creating affiliations with interagency government organizations.
  • 5. Programming process experience analyzing short and longterm objectives and properly allocating funding against requirements.
  • This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GG/GS13).
