Job Summary

Under the direction of the Fabrication Supervisor, the Machine Operator Helper is responsible for efficiently completing assigned tasks. Assist the sheet metal department by operating deburring, graining, and belt sanders to meet production and shipping requirements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Safely operate deburring/graining machine, including belt sanding.
Installation of PEM hardware using a hardware press.
Accurately log tasks and assignments into the Plex ERP system.
Follow instructions from the Fabrication Supervisor accurately and efficiently.
Perform regular maintenance of the graining machine, including any necessary cleaning.

Adhere to all OSHA and company safety rules in an effort to minimize any risk of injury or damage to company property.

Performs all job functions in a safe manner following all established safety guidelines, policies, and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.

Working knowledge and ability to operate graining machine, and sanding tools.
Competent with the use of power tools.
Ability to follow instructions
Efficiency with basic tools

Working Conditions

Typical physical demands and the work environment characteristics an employee must meet and encounter while performing the essential functions of the job.

Ability to stand and walk up to 70/80% of the day.
Ability to occasionally lift and carry items ranging from pounds (over 50 lbs with assistance).
Positions require sitting, standing, walking, and bending.
Must be able to handle urgencies associated with production demands.
Must be able to speak/hear to fulfill verbal communications and respond to machine alarms/buzzers.
Occasional exposure to noise, gas/fumes/mists, and chemicals or hazardous materials while using personal protective equipment when required.
Perform all job functions in a safe manner following all established safety guidelines, policies and procedures.
Must wear steel toe shoes & safety glasses.
Must be able to work extended hours per the demands of the business.

1st Shift Hours:

Monday to Thursday 6:00am to 2:30pm & Friday's 5:30am to 2:00 pm
Pay Range: $20.00 $23.00 per hour (Non-Exempt)
