    REQUIREMENTS: Fluency in Dari, Farsi, or Pashto in addition to English. Knowledge of and connections with local Greater Middle Eastern communities. Must possess a valid driver's license and verification of current auto-insurance and have full use of automobile during work hours.

    GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:

    IRCO's newest cultural center, the Greater Middle East Center (GMEC), is an inclusive culturally- specific service center for communities from the Greater Middle East. The GMEC Resource Navigator will provide comprehensive culturally and linguistically appropriate wrap around services to clients. Services include individualized case management, housing, and resource navigation. The GMEC Case manager/ Resource Navigator will also connect clients with services and resources inside and outside of IRCO. This position will work primarily with Afghan clients but might work with other Greater Middle Eastern clients. As part of GMEC, all members of the growing team are expected to contribute where needed to support GMEC clients and contribute to GMEC's success.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Provide comprehensive, culturally, and linguistically appropriate wrap-around case management services to clients. Case management includes support around housing, access to benefits, children's placement in schools, coordination with health and mental health resources, connection to employment programs, and provision of basic needs.
    • Conduct home and site visits as needed.
    • Serve as an advocate and cultural liaison for clients and mainstream services providers.
    • Provide interpretation and translation as able and as needed.
    • Facilitate clients' access to eligible state or federal benefits and services.
    • Provide role modeling to clients on self-regulation and on how to make appointments, to advocate for the needs of themselves and their children, and to become self-sufficient in accessing services and resources in the community.
    • Protect clients' privacy and follow agency and funder confidentiality policies.
    • Maintain up-to-date client records in case files, in IRCO's client database, and in any funder-required client databases.
    • Engage in outreach and community engagement activities.
    • Adhere to all IRCO and funder policies and procedures.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    SECONDARY FUNCTIONS :
    • Work with volunteers and community groups willing to support clients.
    • Stay involved with community gatherings and ensure clients integration within the community.
    Requirements

    JOB SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be through the following:

    • Associate degree in human services or equivalent field, or equivalent work experience required.
    • English required. Demonstrated fluency in a second language required: Dari, Pashto, Farsi.
    • Experience working or living in multicultural and/or multilingual environments required.
    • Experience working with young children and their families.
    • Must be familiar with service providers involved with parenting education, social services, health care, emergency services, and childcare.
    • Experience with refugee populations preferred.
    • Experience in case management or social work preferred.
    • Knowledge of local refugee, immigrant communities, community leaders and organizations preferred.
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including keen listening ability and relationship building skills.
    • Ability to work well in team setting, as well as independently; ability to be flexible and adapt well to different dynamics in a fast-paced work environment.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
    KNOWLEDGE:

    Education: Some college course work (2)

    Experience: 1-2 years of experience is required (3)

    Additional Language Required: Demonstrated fluency in Dari, Pashto, or Farsi.

    Computers: All positions at IRCO require use of a computer and experience working with Microsoft Products including but not limited to Microsoft 365, Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
