Description
The service advisor is the primary liaison between the service department and its customers.They are responsible for assisting their customers with service and maintenance needs, and assuring the customers' continued satisfaction with their vehicles and the dealership.
The primary duties and responsibilities of the Service Advisor include, but are not limited to:- Greeting customers promptly and obtaining vehicle information
- Reviewing vehicle repair histories in dealership files and verifying any needs for recalls
- Clearly reporting all vehicle symptoms as described by the customer, to the technicians
- Promoting the sales of labor, parts, and accessories (upselling)
- Preparing a complete and accurate estimate of cost for labor and parts and establishing a payment method and promise time upon work completion
- Monitoring the progress of each vehicle and updating the customer throughout the day
- Verifying that the final invoice reconciles with the work performed on the repair order ("RO")
- Explaining all completed work and charges to customers when they arrive
- Overseeing delivery of vehicles to the customer after their visit from the cashier
- Participating in factory sponsored training and programs
Requirements:
- Excellent customer, communication and interpersonal skills all inperson and via telephone
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- General product knowledge
- Basic business and math skills
- Valid driver's license with clean driving history, and 3 years of driving experience
