- Analyze and document current computing assets, including technical specifications and business rules.
- Assist in debugging and troubleshooting processes when necessary.
- Identify and resolve issues post root cause analysis.
- Guide and participate in upgrading legacy assets.
- Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and product owners for transitioning to the new state-wide accounting system.
- Work with database administrators to analyze and improve existing data structures.
- Participate in code and design reviews to ensure quality and performance.
- Conduct knowledge transfer with the technical team of the Comptroller's office.
- Analyze and document Mainframe FOCUS queries, transforming them into T-SQL queries.
- Update Focus mainframe programs to utilize database tables instead of flat files.
- Bachelor's Degree in a technology or finance-related field. Relevant work experience can substitute for the degree.
- Minimum of 7 years of overall IT experience with 2–3 years in architecture.
- Advanced knowledge of Tibco Mainframe FOCUS and JCL, mainframe batch schedulers, file structures, Cool GEN, COBOL, DB2 z/OS, and DB2 Database.
- Strong communication, customer service, decision-making, flexibility, interpersonal, leadership, problem-solving, and team-building skills.
- Experience with master files, complex queries, flat files, and include statements.
- Reading, editing, and creating JCL jobs, handling multiple programs, RC Types, and ad-hoc jobs.
- SCRUM Framework, financial systems like ERP, Entity Relationship Diagrams, technical requirements documentation, and translating between technical and business requirements.

About the Position
Role Overview:
DataSoft Technologies, Inc. is in search of an Applications Architect to join a client in Tallahassee, FL. The ideal candidate should be proficient in Tibco Mainframe Focus/WebFocus to lead the modernization of existing Focus assets. Focus has been a key tool for the department for two decades, used for developing reports, interfaces, and applications. We need someone capable of analyzing these programs and documenting their specifications.
