Materials Manager
Department:
Supply Chain Management
Reports to:
Director Global Supply Chain
Purpose of the Job:
The Materials Manager will provide support to the business by ensuring that the end-to-end supply chain (Planning, Purchasing, receiving, inventory management and shipping) is timely and accurate.
Duties and Essential Job Functions:
- Manage and coordinate diverse team including Materials Planning, Purchasing, Shipping, Receiving and Inventory staff in multiple sites.
- Support, develop and continuously improve processes in the areas of Supply Chain Management, inventory control and the reduction of waste.
- Support Manufacturing and Sales to meet customer requirements.
- Ensuring compliance with ISO certifications and industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborating with other departments to align strategies and objectives.
- Create work instructions and training documentation for effective onboarding of new employees and expectation setting for existing staff.
- Operational and financial reporting.
- Budget and manage staffing levels of both permanent and temporary employees.
Education and Experience requirements
- Post Secondary degree or related experience
- Strong understanding of Supply Chain, Inventory management, Manufacturing processes and workflows.
- Minimum of 2 years of management experience
- 5+ years experience in working with ERP systems.
- 3 years of experience with vehicle design and development (preferred)
- Experience and sound working knowledge of international shipping processes.
- Syteline ERP system experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Intermediate skills with Microsoft suite (Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to adapt to everchanging requirements and deadlines.
- Must have strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Knowledge of project management, planning, and evaluation.
- Ability to practice professionalism and excellent meeting etiquette.
- Ability to work effectively with others in the company, at all levels.
- Able to effectively interact with vendors, customers and other Inova personnel.
- Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
Work Environment:
- Work is primarily in an indoor, well lit office or warehouse environment
- Limited travel to field locations for testing and evaluation of designs
- Some local travel between Sugar Land and Hitchcock locations
Pay:
$90,000.00 per year
