Description

Duties:


  • Executes equipment checkout transactions using the RecTrac computer system.
  • Ensures equipment is clean and serviceable at time of check in.
  • Performs regular equipment inventories to maintain cleanliness and serviceability.
  • Accepts payments and executes transactions for park reservations, RV Storage payments, Stables dues, FamCamp payments, and Resale Lot transactions.
  • Performs light housekeeping to maintain facility appearance.
  • Performs mínimal maintenance on equipment as necessary.
  • Properly tags and forwards equipment needing major repair to the Outdoor Recreation mechanic staff.
  • Performs cash handling duties to include: issuing correct change and preparing the AF Form 1875 (Individual Cashier's Report).
  • Accepts and processes UPS packages for mailing in accordance with UPS shipping standards.
  • Provides assistants in fax, copy, key cutting services and with retail items.
  • Acts as lead sales associate and performs other retail tasks as directed by supervisor.
  • Obtains product knowledge through onthejob training to assist customers.
  • Sells base hunting and fishing licenses per Environmental Management direction.
  • Assists customers with information and booking of Outdoor Adventure Program (OAP) trips.
  • Assists the OAP programmer in the preparation of equipment for program events. In supervisors absence is responsible for daily deposit including AF Forms 1876 (NAF Consolidated Cost Center Report) and 1878 (Central Cashier Deposit Receipt). In supervisors absence will maintain all back up accounting spreadsheets.
  • Assists in the end of the month business closing to include physical inventories and balancing general ledger accounts.
  • Incumbent will attend ski mechanics training and receive certification.
  • Acts as the Operations Manager in his/her absence, receives tasks from management for completion and delegates these tasks to other employees to ensure timely completion.
  • Works uncommon tour of duty to include: days, nights, weekends, holidays and down days.
  • Operates a government vehicle on an installation going from one facility to another.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Must meet deadlines and complete assignments with an acceptable level of accuracy.
  • Must possess the ability to work independently with mínimal supervision, completing routine, regularly assigned duties.
  • Maintains professional customer service.
  • Communicates effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Accurately maintains and controls records pertaining to cash handling and NAF Accounting regulations.
  • Accurately prepares reports according to regulations, policies, and format.
  • Regularly keeps supervisor informed of progress and advises supervisor of any problems or unusual situations that may impact operations.
  • Ensures compliance with fire and safety standards/regulations/policies.
  • Performs assigned duties and tasks in a reasonable amount of time with little or nq supervision.
  • Operates government vehicles in a safe manner adhering to all traffic rules and regulations.
  • All formal and informal training applicable to this position, as deemed necessary by the supervisor.
  • Must obtain and maintain certification in Community First Aid and CPR for adults and children.

  • This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
  • Works uncommon tour of duty to include days, nights, weekends, holidays and down days.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to obtain a government driver's license and license to operate a forklift.
  • Must satisfactorily complete a preemployment physical and be able to frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds.

    Qualifying Experience:
  • Applicant must have experience which provided a working familiarity with the routines and procedures followed in group activities or programs.
  • In addition. must have practical knowledge and/or experience of recreational activities and equipment, rules and procedures in a recreation program activity which has involved recreation work in the area of specialty
  • Outdoor Recreation or Equipment Checkout.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Must possess a valid drivers license and be able to obtain a government drivers license and license to operate a fork lift.
  • Must satisfactorily complete a preemployment physical and be able to frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
