    Pickett, Kelm & Associates, Inc., an Austin, Texas, based structural consulting engineering firm, is seeking structural engineers with 5 to 10 years of experience to join our team.

    Positions involve the analysis, design, detailing and preparation of construction documents for building structures.


    Minimum Requirements:

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the design and preparation of construction drawings for building structural systems.
    • Licensure as a professional engineer in the state of Texas, or out-of-state licensure and eligibility for licensure in the state of Texas.
    • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering (Structures Emphasis).
    • Master's degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering (Structural) is preferred.
    • Sound fundamental knowledge of structural behavior of steel and concrete structures.
    • Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD, including the modeling of structural systems and preparation of structural plans in Revit.
    • Technical knowledge of industry software (RAM Structural System, RISA 3D and 2D, StructurePoint).
    • Good written and verbal communication skills, and a willingness and ability to collaborate with architects, civil engineers, mechanical and electrical engineers, contractors and our in-house staff.
    • Experience with tilt-up design and construction is a plus.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Function as project engineer to lead a structural design team and to coordinate with other design team disciplines and, as necessary, construction managers and contractors.
    • Establish structural design criteria.
    • Perform analysis and design calculations.
    • Develop analytical, parametric and BIM structural models, including structural system models in Revit.
    • Prepare plans, sections, details and elevations for schematic design, design development and construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD.
    • Prepare project specifications.
    • Perform final reviews of structural drawings.
    • Review shop drawings.
    • Perform site visits to review construction for general conformance with the construction documents and document the reviews via construction observation reports.
    • Prepare construction cost estimates.
    • Manage efforts to achieve project budgets and schedules.
