The Enterprise Data Management (EDM) team enables data governance, quality, and metadata management capabilities to maximize the use and ensure the trustworthiness of PG&E's critical data assets.

The Data Lifecycle Product Architect is the sales engineer and solution architect who partners with the Data Lifecycle Product Owner on the implementation, operations, and support of enterprise data management tooling.
This person builds customer relationships by solving problems, designs the technical roadmap for data management software, provides leadership and guidance to technically build the right tool, and inspects and tests at a detailed level to ensure the tool was built right.
This person knows how to use the tool to provide value to the business by technically implementing the tool to its maximum benefit.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting.
The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum:
$147,000
Bay Area Maximum:
$251,000

You are the customer's best friendYou build relationships with data stewards, data scientists, data analysts, data analysts, and data decision makers throughout the company and understand their needs, concerns, and value opportunities
You listen and know what the customer wants: Understand, clarify, and scope business problems, breaking them down into technical requirements that can be satisfied with data management tooling
You figure out how to use data management tooling to solve the hard problems and teach the customer along the way
You ensure customer satisfaction:
Validate data management tooling configurations and data solutions with a fine-tooth comb so that you find the issues before the customer does

You build relationships with data engineers, data architects, and engineering managers and talk to them about business problems in a language they understand
You prioritize:
Build the technical roadmap, ensuring that the activities of the technical teams achieve the right value for the right people at the right time; you understand that is better to do the most important thing well than to work on all the things and finish nothing

Gently but firmly hold technical teams accountable to delivery on business value

Communicate superbly, ensuring information moves between technical and business teams efficiently and is understood throughout the value delivery chain

Draw the architectural diagrams that bring clarity and simplicity to complex technical problems and provide direction for both business stakeholders and technical implementers
You master observability:
Build the monitoring system to proactively understand the state of data at any given time with the capability to pinpoint problems and their cause early and efficiently
You analyze, visualize, and demonstrate:
Build analytics and dashboards to find root cause, demonstrate trends, and showcase the quality of data
Qualifications:

B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent work experience in computer science, information technology, data science, engineering, or other relevant field
7+ years of experience in data management, data governance, data quality, metadata management, data security, and/or designing and implementing functional systems and data in a structured process
