- Provide leadership and support in curriculum development and review
- Recruit, orient, retain, evaluate and support full time faculty.
- Develop course evaluation documents and assessment instruments for the Traditional BSN program
- Provide leadership and management in the areas enrollment/admissions issues, retention, advisement, maintenance of student records, and student outcomes to facilitate student program success
- Assist the Executive Director to develop, review and assess academic plans, curriculum, programs, course schedules and budgets within the School of Nursing
- In collaboration with the Executive Director, provide coordination of all activities related to licensure and accreditation
- Plan and implement the development and assessment of student outcomes and develop a systematic plan for evaluation that meets licensure and accreditation standards for the BSN program
- Initiate community outreach efforts that enhance the development of the School of Nursing and its programs
- Monitor the need for and utilization of resources that support the BSN program
- Teach at least one course each academic year in the area of expertise.
- Support the Executive Director's efforts to engage all communities of interest for the School of Nursing in order to keep the curriculum current and attract needed resources to the School.
- Conducts all work in a safe manner and all work safety practices are followed.
- Performs similar or related work as required, directed or as situation dictates.
- Continues professional development and training; keeps current with trends.
- Assists other department staff as needed to promote a team effort.

- Some evening and weekend hours may be required.
- Doctoral degree from an accredited institution with a specialty in nursing or related field;
- Certification in a nursing specialty a plus;
- Current RN license in the State of Connecticut;
- A minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience;
- Extensive administrative experience managing a School of Nursing or at the college/university level;
- Experience with the standards and requirements of the Collegiate Commission on Nursing Education (CCNE) accreditation process;
- Demonstrated commitment to student success and to enhancing teaching and learning;
- Experience with curriculum development;
- Experience working with and sensitivity to the needs of a diverse population and the needs of the adult learner;
- Strong communication and people skills and the ability to work with faculty and communities of interest.

Position Description Summary/Purpose:
The BSN Program Director assists in the coordination and management of the School of Nursing providing support for the Executive Director in the areas of the Traditional BSN program including curriculum development, faculty orientation and evaluation, clinical contract and placements and ongoing responsibilities for preparation and monitoring related to licensure and accreditation.
The BSN Program Director reports to the Executive Director of the School of Nursing and works collaboratively with the Executive Director and all appropriate faculty and staff to develop and implement strategic plans, programs, and policies.
The Program Director will teach at least one course each semester in his or her area of expertise.Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities:
