Description
We are seeking a motivated Assistant Estimator with strong office management skills to join our team and support our construction striping projects.
The Assistant Estimator will work closely with our Estimating team to prepare accurate and competitive bids for striping projects, ensuring alignment with client requirements, project specifications, and company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates for construction striping projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.
- Review project plans, specifications, and blueprints to identify the scope of work, project requirements, and potential challenges.
- Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather necessary information and quotes for estimating purposes.
- Analyze and compare subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure competitiveness and value.
- Maintain and update cost databases, historical data, and pricing information to support accurate estimating.
- Assist in preparing bid proposals, presentations, and other documentation for client submissions.
- Participate in prebid meetings, site visits, and client consultations as required.
- Monitor and track project costs, budgets, and variances throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage office operations including QuickBooks entries, time submissions, and certified payroll.
- Organize and maintain office files, records, and documentation.
- Coordinate office supplies, equipment, and maintenance.
- Assist with scheduling meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements.
- Support the Estimating team with adhoc tasks and projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in construction estimating, particularly in striping projects, is a plus.
- Strong proficiency in construction estimating software, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with time submissions and certified payroll.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problemsolving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret project plans, specifications, and blueprints.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detailoriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fastpaced environment.
- Knowledge of construction industry practices, standards, and regulations.
