- Prepares working plan and a variety of moderately complex drawings under minimal direction from supervisor or manager. Monitors and updates working plans.
- Able to use databases and/or software programs, such as package layer software (CAD/CAM), to post and update transactions, design standard packages, data conversion, prepare artwork, and otherwise support design functions.
- Makes moderately complex engineering computations and adjustments in drawings. Verifies completed work, checks dimensions, and maintains accuracy of drawings.
- Ensures conformance to company quality system, working with an engineer, manager, or technical staff supervisor.
- Responsible for originating drawings with accuracy, and in a timely manner. Must efficiently apply geometric and tolerancing standards to all drawings.
- Modifies and revises designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems.
- Consults with engineers to discuss and interpret design concepts and determine requirements of detailed working drawings.

PAY RANGE = $23.51/hr. to $36.17/hr.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Under limited supervision, creates moderately complex plans and drawings for engineering and manufacturing use in satisfying customer requests for products. Acquires job skills and learns company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks.
REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma required. Technical or trade schooling preferred.
6 months-2 years of experience as mechanical drafter/designer or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Electronic or telecommunications industry preferred.
Advanced knowledge of drafting techniques, CAD software, design rules, procedures and documentation systems required.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and depth perception.
