Job Summary:


The Assistant Cultivation Manager is responsible for providing support to the Cultivation Manager and Staff in all aspects of the propagation operational policies, objectives, and initiatives in their assigned facility.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Provide support to the Clone/Veg Cultivation Manager on operational management and business activities of the cultivation department in their assigned facility.
  • Be a positive advocate for, and adhere to all SOPs, methods, policies, objectives to advance cultivation, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor environmental data points and HVAC system to prevent system failure and loss of crop.
  • Support Clone/Veg Cultivation Manager in coordinating care for all mother plants including selection, watering, trimming, pruning, cutting/propagation, rotation, and disposal.
  • Utilize propagation techniques to safely maximize cuttings from each mother plant.
  • Monitor and support growth of plants from cuttings through germination.
  • Supervise assistant managers in the development and execution of the cloneto
- pre-harvest cultivation schedule.

  • Maintain inventory levels based on cultivation schedule and sales forecast set by management.
  • Assist in the implementation of new and advanced propagation methods.
  • Regularly monitor KPI's to set metrics and partner with the Clone/Veg Cultivation Manager to reward or provide training/guidance to staff.
  • At the direction of management, partner with Compliance to meet regulatory standards for their department including document records, inventory counts, etc.
  • Support training and development of Clone/Veg Cultivation Leads and Specialists in accordance with company policies to motivate and drive the achievement of business objectives and to build, uphold, and support the values of the Company.
  • Operate as an inclusive leader; engage all associates in a manner that supports company strategy and retention.
  • Updates job knowledge by remaining aware of new regulations, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Minimum two (2) years' experience in a commercial cultivation facility.
  • One (1) years' experience in management/leadership roles.
  • Intermediate knowledge of cannabis cultivation including organic living soil, permaculture, and horticulture.
  • Ability to deliver results timely and in a pressure filled environment.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older and able to successfully register with the state's cannabis commission as an agent.
  • Must be able to comply with all laws, regulations, and policies associated with the industry.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree in plant science, biology, agricultural sciences, or equivalent area of study preferred.
  • 2 year(s) of management/supervisory experience preferred.
  • Operations or performance improvement skill sets preferred.
  • Previous experience in a highly regulated manufacturing, packaging, and/or warehouse environment is a plus.

Physical and Mental Demands:


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position, move and/or position oneself, communicate, operate and/or prepare, place, position objects, tools, or controls.

The employee must occasionally move packages weighing up to 25 lb. Able to stand for 90% of the time.

Comfortable with heights, occasionally ascends/descends a ladder to service the lights, filters, trellis netting and ceiling fans up to 25ft.

Comfortable working atop and traversing scaffolding, when required. Comfortable with changing environment temperatures and humidity. Exposure to pollen, dust, dander, and other nature elements. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close observation and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Environment:

Work is performed in a warehouse environment. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
