    Description
    The Accounts Payable Accountant is needed within the Accounts Payable team to support the Operations Accounting Department.

    This individual will be responsible for learning the invoice processing system, communicating with various internal departments and external vendors to ensure invoices are processed accurately and paid on a timely basis.

    This role reports to the Accounting Supervisor and is located in Downtown Houston, TX. Level and salary is commensurate with background and experience.

    Essential Job Functions

    Process invoices for appropriate account codingRespond to vendor-related inquiriesAssist in resolving issues related to invoicing approval and paymentPrepare and submit vendor setup/maintenance requestsPrepare journal entries related to accounts payableAnalyze vendor spend, invoice count, or invoice coding trendsParticipate in special projects, as needed

    Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree, accounting degree preferredAbility to develop strong working relationships and communicate effectively across the organizationStrong interpersonal and written communication skillsDetail oriented and able to meet deadlinesMS Excel skills
