Description

The Payment Poster is responsible for the posting and reconciliation of all electronic and manual insurance payments and patient payments.

• Process and post incoming payments.
• Reconcile and adjust patient accounts.
• Process denials and followup on unpaid claims and denials.
• Create patient statements to correctly show the financial responsibility of each patient.
• Post all incoming correspondence.
• Research and resolve discrepancies and/or posting errors.
• Contact payers to initiate requests for payment.
• Initiates refunds of identified overpayments.
• Performs appropriate followup with payer for payment.
• Other responsibilities and duties, as assigned.

• Regular and reliable attendance required.

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 2 years' experience of medical billing and payment posting.
• Proficient in medical terminology, coding, and billing practices.
• Strong knowledge of billing/collections guidelines.
• Familiarity with ICD10 and ICD9 coding systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Proficient in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
