    Description

    About Airlink:

Airlink is a Washington, DC-based nonprofit humanitarian logistics organization that works with aviation and logistics partners to transport relief workers and emergency supplies for reputable non-governmental organizations (NGOs) responding to rapid-onset disasters and other humanitarian crises around the globe.

Today, Airlinks network consists of more than 50 commercial and charter airlines and 130+ international NGOs. Airlink and its airline partners have transported more than 8,000 passengers and more than 4,500,000 pounds of cargo in support of a broad range of humanitarian initiatives that have provided aid to more than 23 million people. Airlink has saved our NGO partners more than $14,000,000 in transport costs.

Looking forward, Airlink shows no signs of slowing down, with a three-year strategic plan that includes increasing our team by 25%, doubling our annual revenue, and diversifying our funding base. To that end, we are seeking an Individual Giving Manager to support our expanding Development team in managing Airlinks individual giving program.

    Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Development, the Individual Giving Manager will be a part of a five-member team responsible for generating $6M+ in annual revenue from a diverse funder base, including corporations, individuals, foundations, and government agencies. The primary function of the Individual Giving Manager will be to define and manage Airlinks individual giving strategy and donor portfolio, resulting in at least $1.5M in annual revenue.

This roles dynamic nature requires a strategic thinker with a passion for philanthropy and exemplary people skills. The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity, excels in a fast-paced environment, and is enthusiastic about growing and sustaining a robust individual giving program through crafting appeals and campaigns to engage supporters.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    Donor Engagement (40%)

    • Work with the Development Director to hone Airlinks individual giving strategy, including the Presidents Circle (major gifts), leveraged platforms, family foundations, donor-advised funds (DAFs), and Combined Federal Campaign (CFC).
    • Develop and steward a major gift portfolio of 50+ donors capable of $5K - $100K+ gifts.
    • Conduct donor research, and develop briefings and account plans.
    • Develop and promote ways to give, including planned giving, stocks, insurance, and estate giving/bequests as a tool for major gifts.

    Campaign Management (25%)

    • Manage an annual giving program to identify, cultivate, and renew individual donors through prospect research, direct engagement, related fundraising events and activities, and donor communications.
    • Manage administration and reporting for disaster-timed giving campaigns, including outreach to donors directly and through leveraged public sources.
    • Collaborate with Communications on the preparation of campaign collateral - including direct mail, e-mail, and online media - that resonates with diverse stakeholders and inspires donor support.
    • Develop campaign materials, acknowledgments, invitations, funding reports, and presentations.
    • Assess roster of leveraged platforms and identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency while growing donor base.

    Volunteer Engagement (15%)

    • Collaborate with the Corporate Relations Manager on fundraising engagement with leadership and volunteers, including Ambassadors.

    Administrative and Data Management (20%)

    • Ensure the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date donor records.
    • Analyze donor data and fundraising metrics to assess performance, identify trends, and share key learnings to inform strategic decision-making.
    • Work with the Development Associate and finance team on administration, reporting, reconciliation, and data management in Salesforce/CRM and online giving platforms, including DonorBox.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelors degree or relevant work experience + High School diploma.
    • 5+ years of fundraising experience; at least two years managing individual and major gift programs.
    • Knowledge of fundraising/development principles, donor research and cultivation, and proposal process.
    • Demonstrated proficiency with Salesforce (or comparable CRM), Microsoft Office/Google Suite, Mailchimp, and Donorbox (or other comparable tools).
    • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multi-task, and manage time and information effectively, even under pressure and tight deadlines.
    • Willingness to travel within the U.S. and internationally (20-30%).
    • Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States is required.

    Preferred Skills and Personal Characteristics:

    • Quiet and contagious confidence; conviction in approach and willingness to take risks.
    • High emotional IQ: the ability to read a donor's emotional cues, understand their motivations, and tailor a cultivation approach accordingly.
    • Collaborative and committed to team success over individual success.
    • Passion for Airlinks mission and commitment to aiding those in need.
    • Knowledge of the aviation and/or humanitarian logistics industries.

    Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $80,000. Additionally, Airlink provides a comprehensive benefits package including, but not limited to:
