- Manage day-to-day operations of Financial application portfolio (e.g. application maintenance, stability, development, incident, change & problem management).
- Maintain organized documentation of software code, specifications, and user manuals.
- Monitor system activities and provide necessary support.
- Resolve transmission issues/abends and provide production support with minimal assistance.
- Enhance existing systems by analyzing business objectives and taking action.
- Participate in Incident, Service Requests, and Changes execution within SLA.
- Coordinate software application design, development, testing, and support to ensure timely implementation and issue resolution.
- Offer technical consulting leadership for application portfolio risk management.
- Plan and oversee large application maintenance and currency efforts in collaboration with suppliers and project management.
- Ensure compliance with Voya standards and software development practices.
- Identify opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and manage related change requests.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or related field; Master's Degree preferred.
- Eight plus years of experience in software engineering and development or Operations, with five years in technical leadership.
- Expertise in new computing architectures and networked computing structures implementation.
- Strong Problem-Solving skills.
- Effective communication in technical and business terms.
- Experience in supplier service delivery oversight and quality review.
- Technical Skills/knowledge Required: Azure, Linux, Shell Script, SAS, JCL, COBOL, DB2, Oracle, SQL server.

Explore The Opportunity
Voya US is in search of an experienced Application Support Consultant with expertise in Finance and Retirement based systems, Azure Cloud, Linux, Shell Script, JCL, and COBOL. In this role, you will be involved in supporting a critical application portfolio where applications vary from Cobol/Mainframe based to those already deployed in the Azure Cloud and some standalone .Net based. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will analyze, design, develop, and support software solutions to meet our business needs.
