Your New Role...
Fareed Zakaria GPS is CNN's flagship foreign affairs show. It airs on Sundays at 10a and 1pET. The show features intelligent discussion and sharp opinions - from Fareed and his guests.

Past guests include everybody from President Obama to President Putin, Bill Gates to Bill Maher, Malcolm Gladwell to Neil deGrasse Tyson.


Your Role Accountabilities...

  • Find and research creative and current story ideas and guests
  • Conduct research and factcheck for all information that goes on the air on GPS
  • Assist Fareed Zakaria in research for his columns, blogposts and other writing
  • Suggest stories, prepare research to support story preparation and find examples to illustrate trend stories
  • Perform some light administrative work for Fareed
  • With the executive producer and others, perform general quality control checks on the show before it is determined ready for air.

Qualifications & Experience...

  • Proficient in use of the internet; excellent communication skills; selfstarter, selfmotivated; strong news judgment and research skills
  • Substantial practical experience using the web for research is required
  • Ability to comfortably work with diverse personalities in often intense newsroom situations
  • Minimum educational requirement: 4year college degree (bachelor's degree or international equivalent)
  • Excellent communication skills assertive yet diplomatic with the ability to make quick decisions under pressure, solve problems creatively, work independently and efficiently.
  • The ability to multitask, and switch gears elegantly based on changing needs and deadlines

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required.

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance.

Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees.


Pay Range:
$52, $97,344.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short
- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
