- Provide emergency medical response to visitors or employees within Tennessee Aquarium guidelines. Adhere to company protocol for injured staff and volunteers.
- Observe guests and staff with their safety in mind and provide world-class customer service that exceeds expectations.
- Provide fire prevention by performing regular physical checks of each building and inspecting fire panels, pull stations, smoke detectors, and extinguishers.
- Ensure the security of assets through theft deterrence, monitoring security cameras, escorting cash control staff, and monitoring security alarms. Follow procedure for investigating alarms and incidents and notify staff/emergency agencies as appropriate.
- Responsible for documenting all incidents and promptly distributing reports appropriately.
- Perform patrols daily throughout the building and grounds. Examine doors, gates, and windows to determine that they are secure. Scan QR codes to verify patrols.
- Perform daily building inspections prior to opening. Document any safety concerns and notify the appropriate department(s).
- Involved with base dispatching via a two-way radio, loading dock receiving from vendors, and other duties as assigned and/or required.
- Previous relevant experience working with the public.
- Courses related to public relations, safety, fire science, criminal science and crowd dynamics preferred.
- Must have current Tennessee EMT or AEMT certification and be physically able to perform any medical and/or life-saving procedures as pertain to the certification.
- Must project a positive attitude and deal pleasantly and effectively with visitors and staff.
- Must be able to accurately document pertinent incidents and reports and maintain logs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows-based computer applications.
- Must be able to work hours involving shift work, weekends, and holiday coverage.
- Must maintain an active state of Tennessee EMT or AEMT certification certificate. Failure to disclose restrictions related to your medical license may be grounds for termination.
- State of Tennessee Security license - must acquire within 15 days of employment and maintain it while employed.
- Must complete Safe Restraint and De-Escalation training within 15 days of employment.
- Walking, running, standing, and climbing several levels of stairs on a routine basis; lifting equipment and packages of up to 50 lbs.
