Summary:
A production supervisor reports to the production manager and/or plant manager.

Is responsible for achieving immediate and short-term objectives lay down by the production manager and/or plant manager; for example, output, quality, waste, yield, safety.

To facilitate and act as an additional level of supervision over production employees while ensuring that operational objectives, on both a weekly and daily basis, are met.

The supervisor can have a significant effect on how effectively their production staff performs as a team.


Requirements:


  • Must be able to read and write
  • Must be able to follow directions and written specifications
  • Ensuring that all the meat product are in compliance with the quality assurance weight standards.
  • Maintaining hygiene and cleanliness of the work areas and equipments that are used for cutting.
  • Appropriately cleaning, cutting, weighing and sizing the product.
  • Understand the product requirements of chefs in restaurants and customers in stores.
  • Reporting the procurement of substandards product or demands manager.
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Must be available on all production days including weekend unless otherwise authorized by management.
  • Must be able to follow directions and written specifications
  • Must be comfortable handling chilled and frozen products

Regular/Predictable Attendance: Excessive absenteeism and tardiness places an undue burden on the management team. It also affects the company's ability to effectively and reliably manage the expected outcome of all aspects of the operation.
Irresponsible or excessive tardiness and absenteeism will result in disciplinary action.

Special Requirements:


  • Must possess basic knowledge of all floor production level operations.
  • Detail Oriented in Safety Workplace
  • Periodically food lifts above shoulder and overhead to deposit in a moving conveyor
  • Maximum Weight lift 70 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Previous experience in food production or processing or a minimum of 1 year as a production level employee with Koch Foods.
  • Experience with USDA regulations and/or HACCP.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for all assisting in all aspects of operations.
  • Ensuring that all regulations relating to safety, security, GMP, sanitation, discipline, or any other factors are followed and that breaches in policy are communicated to appropriate management.
  • Track and control break timing and distribution according the setting time on each Department.
  • Responsible for the training of new hires.
  • Ensuring that appropriate logístical materials are available at their assigned lines at all times.
  • Elimination and prevention of foreign material contamination.
  • Responsible for ensuring cleanliness of area to company and USDA specifications.
  • Assist in line setup.
  • Proper distribution and maintenance of employee equipment as well as programming and calibration of line equipment.
  • Review of basic levels of quality assurance as well as assisting in quality initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
  • Much of the work requires the ability to make immediate decisions and time for mature reflection is very scarce. Although advice may be available from personnel departments, it may not be immediately available at critical moments; the supervisor has to be able to make things work, there and then.
  • Inevitably supervisors have production plant or equipment under their wings too. The responsibility they carry again varies with the situation. In some cases they may have to tale technical decisions on a regular basis, whereas in others they may call upon maintenance or other technical staff for backup when necessary.

Pay:
$ $26.00 per hour
