    Description


    SUMMARY Performs technical assignments which impact the design, manufacturing, test, calibration, repair, efficiency and or application of the companys products.

    This position, although highly technical in scope, assignment and direction, is not typically occupied by an academically trained or registered engineer.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Gathers, correlates and applies technical information and data to increase production, quality, volume, environmental suitability, and or application of company products.

    Applies basic engineering, technical and application principles, techniques and procedures. Works with various products, equipment and disciplines to increase production, quality, efficiency, volume and or environmental suitability.

    Research technical documentation Illustrated Parts Catalog, Component Maintenance Manuals, Aircraft Maintenance Manual, Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, Service Difficulty Reports, material specification, vendor catalogs in support of PMA developmental projects.

    Maintain an engineering library of above mentioned items.

    Support engineering with basic drawings in CAD, requiring a basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance GDT

    Create technical documentation packages containing drawings and specifications, lab test results, and inspection test plans at the direction of the Mechanical Engineer.

    Maintain metrics for the group, requiring the ability to use Microsoft Excel and creating charts and graphs. Update project status using MS Projects. Assist engineers in the metrology lab using basic dimensioning equipment. Create, read and interpret technical information. Organize technical documentation consisting of reports, specifications, drawing, FAA regulations, drawing release and control.

Drawing release and control Assist and or perform First Article Inspections and or receiving inspections. May be required to travel to customers sites. All other duties as assigned.     QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and or ability required.

    EDUCATION and or EXPERIENCE Bachelor of Arts degree BA or Bachelor of Science degree BS from four year college or university or eight years related experience and or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
