CPH has an opening in our Sanford, Florida office location for the following position:Project Engineer (EIT/EI) – Roadway/Transportation
CPH is seeking a Project Engineer (EIT/EI) with an interest in design of Roadways, Complete Streets/Streetscapes, Roundabouts, Multi-Use Trail, and Pedestrian improvement projects.
Your projects will include a diverse variety of transportation-related projects such as new alignments, roadway reconstruction/rehabilitation, widening, bicycle & pedestrian, safety improvements, intersection improvements, and include all phases of a project from concept design to final design.
Duties IncludeWorking under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer or Project Manager as a member of a team in the design and preparation of technical reports, analysis/calculations, and construction documents.
Preparation of accurate presentation, design, details and construction documents.Preparation of permit applications and submittal packages to Agencies having jurisdiction.
Coordination with clients, subconsultants, permitting agencies, utility providers, contractors and other parties associated with the project.
Periodic travel to perform site investigations, and construction observation.
Preparation of specifications, shop drawing review, field observations, preparation of inspection reports and other construction administration tasks.
Collaboration with other firm engineers, architects, disciplines, project managers, and business development teams.
Research, interpretation and implementation of relevant design standards and client requirements.
Implementation and utilization of CPH and client standards and templates.
Development and adherence to project scope, schedules, and budgets.
Requirements
B.S. in Civil/Environmental Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
EI/EIT Certification or commitment to obtain within 1 year of hire.
0-2+ years of experience
Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook. AutoCAD experience is a plus.
Ability to exercise critical thinking and good independent judgement.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
Good social, communication, written and organizational skills.
Ability to effectively multi-task and work on multiple projects while adhering to project schedules and budgets.
Flexibility in work schedule to accommodate project deadlines.
Detail oriented, quality conscious, reliable and self-motivated.
