Job Description: Maintenance Tech at National Church Residences

National Church Residences is dedicated to serving over 46,000 seniors with a variety of housing and healthcare services. As the largest nonprofit provider of affordable senior housing in the U.S., we take pride in managing service coordinators across more than 360 communities. Our offerings extend to residential senior communities, home and community-based services, and permanent supportive housing for the previously homeless and disabled.

Essential Functions as a Maintenance Tech:

Conduct general maintenance in resident units and common areas, involving carpentry, painting, and repairs.
Prepare vacant units for move-in by performing tasks like painting and cleaning.
Schedule and carry out preventive maintenance and cleaning tasks, including inspections, tests, and record-keeping.
Maintain security systems, fire alarms, and door locks.
Adhere to assigned schedules and on-call duties.
Handle landscaping duties such as lawn mowing, hedge trimming, and maintenance of grounds and walkways.
Clean and maintain common areas by emptying trash, dusting, vacuuming, and more.
Manage trash removal and dumpster area maintenance.
Maintain maintenance records and follow safety procedures and instructions.
Establish effective communication and relationships with residents, coworkers, and stakeholders.
Treat all residents and staff with respect and professionalism.
Manage internal and external relationships with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.
One to two years of maintenance experience with knowledge of janitorial equipment and procedures.
Good mechanical and problems-solving skills.
Well-organized with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Proficient in using computer or tablet software.
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
