GOODProjects is a non-profit organization dedicated to meeting the immediate needs of underserved youth and their families in Washington D.C.

Our mission is to create pathways out of poverty for marginalized families to become self-sufficient and to increase the overall life expectancy and well-being of communities of color.

GOODProjects also works with organizations nationally to administer social impact projects that focus on youth development.


Job Summary:


The Development Coordinator will report to the Development Lead and work in partnership with the leadership team to successfully implement the administrative functions of the development department.

The Development Coordinator will play a vital role in strengthening funding opportunities, building relationships with donors, and enhancing communication efforts to drive stewardship.

The Development Coordinator will also be responsible for helping to identify new grant opportunities and work collaboratively with the Development Lead to manage the submission of grant proposals and reports.

As a pivotal member of the GOODProjects team, the Development Coordinator will have an opportunity to learn about the programs, build relationships in our community, and think strategically about the long-term sustainability plans of the organization.


Responsibilities:

Fundraising and Cultivation Activities_

  • Assume a supporting role in planning and executing all fundraising events including annual fundraising gala.
  • Manage event logistics, serving as the point of contact for vendors (i.e. catering, venue, printing), supporters and sponsors, volunteers, table captains, and attendees.
  • Manage the CRM program coordinate all data entry and gift processing using 4AGOODor Salesforce.
  • Help to coordinate other seasonal or special events.
  • Develop and track proposals and reports for all foundation and corporate fundraising.

Individual giving and Donor Stewardship_

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director on updating and monitoring the annual development calendar to ensure yearround engagement and stewardship of individual donors.
  • Coordinate, attend, and ensure the appropriate follow up occurs with donors and supporters.
  • Process donations, generate and track taxreceipts and acknowledgement letters.
  • In partnership with the Communications team, contribute fundraising information to communications team to support with newsletters, social media, and press releases.
  • Arrange campaign logistics for individual solicitation and thank you letters.

Corporate, Government Grant, and Foundation Relations_

  • Support the leadership team with identifying grant and sponsorship opportunities
  • Manage the communication with grantors, submission to grant portal, and compliance tracking of each individual grant.
  • Provide necessary information to the Communications Team to ensure sponsorship recognition and benefits have been provided.
  • Complete matching gift forms and protocols
  • Assist with program event logistics as requested, including activities such as photography, volunteer management, or communications activities.

Operations, Infrastructure, and Other Roles_

  • Manage volunteer and small donor program.
  • Schedule, attend, and take minutes at Development meetings, attend Board meetings.
  • Communicate relevant information to the Board of Directors

Minimum Qualifications and Skills include:


  • Driven with a strong commitment to youth and families in poverty.
  • Demonstrated experience in fundraising, soliciting for donations, and/or planning major events.
  • Detailoriented and proactive approach to managing timesensitive and competing workloads.
  • Effective written and visual communication skills
  • Enthusiastic selfstarter and consistently demonstrates initiative.
  • Positive disposition and good humored
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse base of support and stakeholders, including community leaders, volunteers, donors, other nonprofit organizations, agencies, and corporate partners.
  • Software proficiency including Salesforce, Microsoft Office products, and Google Suite
  • Must maintain confidentiality with sensitive information and must have the ability to successfully complete a background check.
  • Mostly typical working hours, except that of events, which will require attendance outside of typical working hours and days.
  • Some travel required.

Experience:


  • Experience working in a fastpaced environment with a diverse team and promoting a positive brand image.
  • 24 years' experience working in fundraising in a nonprofit environment.
  • Proven experience in fundraising, event management, and volunteer coordination.
  • Strong written communication skills with experience in proposal writing.
  • Ability to manage relationships effectively and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with event planning processes and best practices.
