Summary:


Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as electric motors, pneumatic systems, and production machines and support equipment by performing the following responsibilities.


Education:


High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years of plastic production experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Responsibilities:

Perform and document routine lubrication of production machinery and equipment.

  • Repairs or replaces defective mechanical parts.
  • Replaces faulty electrical parts such as relays, switches, motors and sensors.
  • Observes mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of trouble.
  • Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
  • Replace and rewire electrical motors and control systems up to 480 VAC
  • Starts equipment to test their performance.
  • Sets up and operates drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
  • Test and repair support equipment (grindersthermal control units
- hand tools)

  • Assist with the installation of new machinery and equipment.
  • Basic hydraulic knowledge.
  • Ability to weld ferrous metals.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
