We own and operate premier senior living communities that provide a spectrum of housing and care options including independent living, assisted living, memory support services, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and community-based home care.
Our charitable programs include a domestic violence prevention center and shelter, and we provide scholarships and educational support for students attending an all-girls Catholic high school in the Chicago area.
About your new role:
- As the Regional Controller, your primary responsibility is to ensure the timely, accurate, and comprehensive completion of financial reports for the communities under your jurisdiction. You'll provide essential financial and analytical analysis not only to the communities but also to Franciscan Ministries (FM). Additionally, you'll collaborate closely with the communities and the FM team to implement changes to processes, standards, and policies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and best practices. Your role is crucial in maintaining financial transparency, efficiency, and compliance across the board.
Key Responsibilities
:
Timely Financial Reporting
:
- Ensure the timely, complete, and accurate preparation of monthly financial statements for assigned communities and operating entities.
- Conduct thorough reviews of financial statements to identify operational issues that require attention
General Ledger Maintenance
:
- Maintain the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers for communities and entities within your responsibility
Financial Analysis and Reporting
:
- Provide financial analysis as requested by assigned communities or FM staff, coordinating with the AVP Finance and Accounting
Audit and Budget Preparation
:
- Prepare financial reporting needs for the annual audit and cost reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate in the timely preparation of annual operating and capital budgets in coordination with executive directors, department managers, and FM staff
Accounts Receivable Management
:
- Monitor accounts receivable, ensuring timely, complete, and accurate billing to residents.
- Coordinate with the FM accounts receivable manager, executive director, and business office manager to address collections performance
Communication and Reporting
:
- Report financial information and operational issues to the executive director, department managers, and FM staff in a timely and clear manner
Collaboration
:
- Collaborate with executive directors, department managers, and FM staff to ensure seamless financial operations
Ad Hoc Responsibilities
:
- Perform any other duties as assigned or as indicated by the area of responsibility

Qualifications
:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA or relevant professional certification preferred.
- Proven experience in financial leadership roles, with a focus on accurate financial reporting and analysis.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, auditing, and general ledger maintenance.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
