Department Overview:


The men and women of Electric & Gas Operations ensure the delivery of safe and reliable electric & gas service to our customers.

PG&E's Gas Transmission Vegetation Management Unit's role is to support the Gas Transmission Department's Right-of-Way (ROW) operations and maintenance encroachment program and safety projects.


These services include:

Vegetation Management Services related to PG&E's Gas Transmission Operations and Maintenance projects.
Prioritization and supervision of vegetation reclamation projects throughout PG&E's service territory.
Vegetation Management Services related to PG&E's Gas Transmission Construction projects.

Position Summary


PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting.

This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.

The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, collective bargaining agreements, and internal equity.


A reasonable salary range is:


Bay Area Minimum:
$93,000


Bay Area Maximum:
$139,000

&/OR


California Minimum:
$88,000


California Maximum:
$132,000

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned location based on business needs. Headquarters location is flexible within the PG&E service territory


Responsibilities:

Manages multiple assignments concurrently. Contributes significantly to developing company procedures, guidance, specifications and guidelines.
Works independently with only general direction. Can serve as team leader. Assignments are of broad scope and complexity. Assignments require integration of information from a variety of sources.

Provide clear direction to PG&E personnel, contract vegetation inspectors, and vegetation contractors in performance of day-to-day activities related integrated vegetation management.

Maintain a superior safety ethic for self and others and conduct all work in accordance with all safety procedures.

Maintain compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Work with and develop relationships with regulatory and governmental agencies, communities, and other groups to communicate proposed actions and resolve issues before they escalate.


Project Planning and Workload Management:
Ensure that project work scope, schedule and cost are accurately analyzed prior to commencement. Actively plan, estimate, and manage all project work for each line of business.

Leadership:
Provide leadership and foster an environment that encourages teamwork and innovative problem solving. Identify, communicate, and implement strategic initiatives to improve processes to benefit operations.


Qualifications:


Minimum:

College degree in Natural Resources Management, Forestry, Project Management, or related field
Or 4 years' experience in the management of natural resources, project management and contract administration
Possess a valid California Class C Driver's License


Desired:

Proficient in the use of Microsoft office products
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and achieve team goals
Demonstrated ability in budget forecasting, planning and management
Demonstrated experience in governmental agency and NGO interaction
Strong organizational skills
High degree of self-motivation
Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time, set priorities, and meet deadlines
Working knowledge of federal and state environmental/biological permit requirements
Personality traits that are consistent with becoming a strong team player that encourages and promotes others over themselves
California Registered Professional Forester License
Pest Control Advisor
Qualified Applicator License
ISA Certified Arborist
MS degree in Natural Resources or related field
Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control
Working knowledge of sensitive species (rare, threatened, endangered) issues
