Social Worker -Pediatric Palliative Care - 4x10 Day Shift - Tues -Fri

Work with a varied pediatric patient population, and utilize your skills in providing supportive counseling, crisis intervention, and psychosocial evaluation.

You'll provide clinical consultation as a member of the Palliative Care Team, conduct bedside mental health assessment, provide treatment and interventions to facilitate effective coping and provide bedside patient/family education.


As a Pediatric Palliative Care Social Worker you will:

  • Provides comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments for patient and families facing chronic and/or life-limiting conditions
  • Utilizes crisis intervention, individual/family counseling, family meetings, psychoeducation, and advocacy in navigating our healthcare system to enhance patient/family's ability to meet acute as well as ongoing medical and psychosocial needs.
  • Advocates for interventions that alleviate burden and facilitate coping for patients and families
  • Serves as a resource for patients who need further support for grief and bereavement
  • Join a dedicated interdisciplinary Palliative Care Team of Physicians and a Nurse Practitioner to collaboratively provide expert patient and family care
  • Participate in a team approach to developing the Palliative Care Program

This is a 4x10 day shift position, Tuesday - Friday, starting at 8 AM.

Preferred Criteria

  • At least onetwo years of inpatient Medical/Surgical experience
  • Completed or currently in a SW Palliative Care Fellowship Program

Required Criteria

  • Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW)
  • New York State License as a Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW)

Salary Range:

$39.41-$52.77/Hourly
