JOB SUMMARY

  • This program provides intensive rehabilitative services for female inmates in a community correctional rehabilitative environment. It is designed to provide genderspecific comprehensive reentry and rehabilitative services to females incarcerated within the CDCR system. These services include, but are not limited to, substance abuse treatment and education, relapse prevention, individual, group and family counseling, educational and vocational programs, skill building, family reunification, wellness and exercise, and other therapeutic services. This program uses a unique blending of clinical and social models to achieve a global change in lifestyle allowing the participants to lead a productive, lawabiding, alcohol and drugfree lifestyle by incorporating personal and community support systems.
  • The Facility Monitor is responsible for providing oversight of residents in a female residential treatment facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor the residents; ensure they are present in the facility.
  • Respond to resident's needs for medication or emergency medical treatment. Responsible for updating visiting logbooks, ensuring that policies are being adhered to.
  • Knowledge of CDCR rules, regulations, policies, and procedures related to transporting residents outside of the facility.
  • Transports residents, as directed by the facility, to ensure that they attend appointments outside of the facility.
  • Ability to maintain the safe and secure operation of the transportation vehicles to ensure that all maintenance is current, and all security items are in proper working order.
  • Meets and maintains security and other standards necessary for admission to the program. Complies with all CDCR requirements including security and safety.
  • Provide oversight of resident's transportation passes.
  • Responsible for room, quarterly boxes, and property checks. Maintain program structure and adherence to rules and procedures.
  • Seek supervision by contacting Residential Program Manager in case of emergencies.
  • Document in program log both the regular checks on residents and any emergency/crisis situations which occur. Provide basic direction to residents who experience emotional crisis during this shift.
  • Communicate effectively with other staff to provide consistent treatment for each client. Interacts therapeutically with residents.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good sense of boundaries, ethics, and professional demeanor. Maintain the distinction between therapeutic and social relationships
  • Cultural and ethnically sensitive.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all MHS and program rules, policies and procedures including HIPAA standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or its equivalent (e.g. General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
  • Valid California Drivers License and excellent driving record
  • Trained and certified in CPR and the administration of first aid services within 30 calendar days of hire.
  • This is an entrylevel position. Staff in this position are expected to be pursuing an education/training designed to further their career in the substance abuse treatment field.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite and EHR software.
  • Ability to problem solve and react appropriately to emergency situations.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively collaborate with a team.
