THE POSITION:

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:

Your role involves entry-level technical work in various engineering technology fields and includes a 12-month training program.

You will be involved in preparing technical work for construction inspection of road and bridge projects to ensure adherence to contract specifications, assisting in inspections at all stages of transportation construction, checking grades, elevations, structure stake-out, and roadway stake-out with a contractor or surveyor, as well as inspecting the placement of materials like cement concrete, bituminous concrete, drainage materials, and other relevant materials.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:


  • Fulltime employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday
  • Friday, with 30minute lunch.

Telework:You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, depending on project assignments. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Hollidaysburg.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:


  • An associate degree in surveying, drafting, designing, civil, or any other appropriate field of engineering technology.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
