Level 1 Network Admin - Ogden, United States - TEKsystems
Description
:Our client has openings for Level 1 network administrators onsite up at Hill AFB in Utah. This position gives candidates exposure to troubleshooting networking issues in OSI layers 1-3 at an enterprise level supporting large scale missions within the DOD. Candidates MUST HAVE a secret clearance and Sec+ certification at a minimum to be considered. The Level 1 Network Administrators must have a MINIMUM of 1-2 years of networking experience and will work hand in hand with the mid level network admins on base.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Conduct network and telecommunications system incident investigation.
• Identify and document network errors and solutions.
• Analyze network and telecommunications alarms and identify potential issues.
• Configure, test, install, troubleshoot, and maintain network devices such as firewalls, cryptographic devices, and routers to optimize performance and ensure the desired security posture is attained and maintained.
• Configure, test, install, troubleshoot, and maintain network devices, phone systems, including phone units, voicemail, switches, infrastructure, call manager systems, Video Teleconference (VTC) systems video recording/viewing/distribution systems, and related telecommunications trunk circuits.
• Configure, test, install, troubleshoot, and maintain network devices including MSPP, Promina, ATM, and Optical.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• 1-2 years of networking experience and familiarity/experience with routing protocols and networking equipment/systems
• Active Security+ Certification
• Able to work in a shift work environment as we are a 24/7 operation.
• Experience with Cisco, or Juniper equipment in a LAN and WAN environment
• Expertise in one or more of the following: routers, switches, crypto devices, routing, DSN/DRSN, GVS, Promina, CISCO, MSPP, Optical Switching.
• General understanding of network topologies, both transport and IP.
• Currently possess an active Secret security clearance.
