Position Overview:


Primary Responsibilities:


Program Leadership

  • Assist in the development and implementation of new FBA programs and services.
  • Work collaboratively across the Community Impact department to forge creative partnerships that achieve impact.

Relationship management

  • Develop excellent working relationships with stakeholders including emergency food providers, peer groups, government partners, funders, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Align with Government Relations to develop and promote FBA policy priorities.
  • Serve as FBA representative on emergency food and benefits access working groups and coalitions.

Team Management

  • Assist with the management of a diverse team and serve as a thought partner in developing team structure, roles, team building activities and strategies, accountability, succession and transition plans, etc.
  • Collaborate with and support FBA program leaders to create, track, adhere to, and modify workplans and budgets.
  • Serve as a key liaison with internal departments (Finance, Organizational Learning and Development, etc.) to ensure alignment and common goals.

Operations Leadership

  • Facilitate coordination across the FBA team to document and enhance grantmaking tools and strategies.
  • Support team in adhering to narrative, financial and other reports due to funders and partners.
  • Support the development and ongoing review of the FBA annual plan and strategy.
  • Use Results Count Framework to track team goals.
  • Conduct site visits of emergency food providers across the city.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, social sciences, nutrition, public health, social work, or a related field plus ten years of experience, or a Master's degree plus five years of experience
  • Supervisory and team management experience.
  • Deep understanding of social determinants of health, structural racism and other systemic barriers that contribute to food and financial insecurity.
  • Strategic program planning, management, and evaluation skills, including government grant administration experience.
  • Excellent writing, editing, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Innovative thinker, with a track record of translating strategic thinking into action plans and results.
  • Experience with using population and program data to inform decisionmaking.
  • Excellent judgment and creative problemsolving skills
  • Ability to advocate for and manage budget priorities.
  • Experience in grantmaking is preferred.
  • Presence and confidence to project credibility to stakeholders
  • A passion for UWNYC's mission, vision, and accomplishments

Salary range:

- $87,767 - $ 153,593
