Responsibilities:


We have an opportunity for a
SVP, Captive Strategies join our Berkley Accident and Health (BAH) team You will serve as an integral part of the leadership team within BAH and the captive division.

The vision is for this leader to be hands-on developing and executing a number of high-impact projects related to the growth objectives for the group captive business, and will on occasion assist in supporting other growth initiatives across the organization, as well.

As a result, this will be a highly collaborative and visible position, with an evolving and expanding set of responsibilities all focused on helping us grow.

Key functions include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and execute on initiatives to enhance and support Business Development teams on both new and existing programs
  • Advise and guide senior management on opportunities for strategic growth, process improvements or resource allocation
  • Lead variety of projects related to the expansion of our portfolio of programs
  • Identify, create and develop enhancements of all products and services that help support growth and retention goals
  • Manage all Capital Expenditure (CapEx) projects related to the captive division
  • Lead various crossoperational and crosssegment strategic projects
  • Develop and manage training and sales enablement for all members of business development teams (VPs, AVPs, RSMs, PAEs)
  • Work closely with Producer Relations and Marketing teams as liaison for all efforts supporting strategic growth objectives
  • Provide support as needed for various sales and marketing campaigns, presentations, events, sponsorships
  • Oversight and analysis of competitors, emerging trends, or new entries
  • Support and work closely with VPs of BD for unique projects or opportunities to improve close ratios
  • Seek out and increase expertise in various current and emerging risk management solutions

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree
  • 10+ years strategic leadership experience
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for selling and marketing medical stop loss
  • Experience working in or with executive management and leading highprofile initiatives
  • Experience executing on multiteam projects and collaborations
  • Actual experience producing and selling products (preferred but not required)
  • Understanding technical components of medical stop loss coverage, selffunded health plans, and current and emerging risk management solutions in healthcare
  • Knowledge of basic group captive concepts (preferred but not required)
  • Ability to work closely and effectively with various levels of employees in all operational areas.
  • Excellent problem solving, organizational, and presentation skills.
  • Exhibits high levels of optimism, initiative, accountability, creativity, and resilience
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with internal and external customers
