    ADON for Assisted Living Facility


    SUMMARY


    Administers resident healthcare program in the assisted living facility to maintain standards of resident care, and advises staff, department supervisors, and administrator in matters related to resident healthcare service by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


    • Organizes and plans the Healthcare services of residents to ensure their needs are met in accordance with instructions of physician orders and Stones River Manor administrative procedures
    • Consult and assist Director of Nursing with nursing department issues with residents or employees
    • Help maintain an atmosphere of teamwork and harmonious environment for residents and staff
    • Assist with Resident Assistants' performance reviews
    • Consult with resident families as needed or required
    • Assist with maintaining inventory and supply stock
    • Med cart review for cleanliness, accurate placement of medications on cart, separation of medication by route administered, and accuracy of dated materials
    • Covers the role and duties of Director of Nursing in their absence
    • Shares on Call duties in a rotation assigned by the Director of Nursing

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Manages 2 or more subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of 20 or more employees in the A/L and I/L Healthcare Department
    • Manages 1 or more non-supervisory employees
    • Overall direction, coordination, and evaluation over the unit
    • Carries out duties and responsibilities under the organization's policies and applicable laws
    • Assists Human Resources in interviewing, hiring, and training employees
    • Plans assignments and directs work for employees
    • Appraises employee performances, addresses complaints, rewards, and disciplines employees, and resolves problems as needed

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE


    • Graduate of a school of nursing
    • Six months to one-year related experience and/or training
    • Equivalent combination of education and experience
    CERTIFICATIONS. LICENSES and/or REGISTRATIONS


    • Valid State Registered Nurse License or Practical Nurse License
    • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    • Ability to speak, read, comprehend and write in English
    • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to family members, residents, and other employees

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
    • Ability to create and edit Microsoft Office documents

    REASONING ABILITY

    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
    • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
