Role Overview:

The Cybersecurity Operations Intern is a member of the Security Operations Group and the wider Information Security Group. This is a paid internship, and candidates must be able to work between 20-35 hours a week (dependent on coursework) in our Coral Gables, Florida office. This is a 6-month part-time internship with the option to extend and the hours worked are between 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. This position is designed for self-motivated individuals with an insatiable appetite to learn and a strong desire to pursue a career in Information Security. This internship will help develop professional skills in Information Security, including Security Operations, Security Engineering, and Security Architecture. This position will allow you to understand better the different facets of an effective Information Security Program and gain practical experience as you work alongside Information Security thought leaders and staff. You will be assigned multiple mentors to shadow as you work on various assignments.

Role Responsibilities:

Requirements & Qualifications:

Participate in the operations of the firms Cybersecurity Monitoring Program.
Assist with creating, reviewing, and documenting playbooks and procedures for Security Operations.
Assist with managing the operations of the firms Security Awareness Program.
Assist with initiatives, tasks, and projects within the Cybersecurity Program.

Requirements & Qualifications:

Candidate must currently be enrolled in an accredited Bachelors Degree or Associates Degree program, pursuing a degree in Information Security, Cyber Security, Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, or any engineering major.
A standard body of knowledge: some upper-level coursework on information security, some expertise, and academic/work experience in logical security domains.
Familiar with and eager to learn security concepts and technologies for Information Security.
Considerable writing proficiency, visual design, oral presentation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Ability to exercise sound judgment in complex situations.
Possess a results-oriented, high-energy, self-motivated attitude and a strong commitment to customer service.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
Possesses solid problem-solving and analytical skills.
Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision or guidance.
