Construction Estimator - Energy Group & EVCI


Summary:


Ability to travel:
This position is generally expected to require moderate overnight travel. The individual in this role should be able and willing to travel as required.


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Review Client provided plans and documentation.
  • Prepares and estimates budget costs for construction by studying plans and specifications.
  • Evaluates offers to purchase by site requirements, additions, and costing changes.
  • Resolves cost differences by analyzing and collecting information.
  • Writes up and present budgets, reports, and project plans.
  • Develops bids for construction projects.
  • Works closely with architects and other professionals.
  • Attend and schedule meetings/followup with clients, site managers, and staff.
  • Navigate and understand building codes.
  • Process paperwork and travels to building sites as required.
  • Monitor construction processes.
  • Stay up to date with safety codes and improvements in construction.

Qualifications:


  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, ability to effectively represent Client needs.
  • Ability to analyze basic RFP and RFQ client requirements.
  • Read and interpret surveys and construction drawings.
  • Read and comprehend legal documents such as legal descriptions, surveys, ground leases, easements, deeds, land purchase contracts, mortgages, title policies, subordination, technical drawings, & zoning regulations, building and electrical codes.
  • Demonstrated understanding of design and construction principles and regulations to specific client needs.
  • Effectively complete tasks within project timelines, enter data and utilize existing project management tools, and report progress and developments daily.

Desired Skills & Experience:


  • Minimum two years of design and construction estimating experience.
  • Strong mathematics and financial experience.
  • Experience with civil, electrical engineering designs.
  • Experience working with subcontractors and subtrades to procure necessary client response documentation.
  • Work independently as well as with others.
  • Strong attention to detail
